In this, their first exhibition, you will see some of the work stitched by members of the Quirky Quilters.
The club was started in 2012 by Margaret Beggs and Doreen Wales who saw a need for a local quilting group. The club has gone from strength to strength in the 5 years since.
Some of the techniques exhibited include patchwork piecing, appliqué, embroidery, free motion quilting and “scribbling with your sewing needle” or free motion embroidery to make contemporary textile artwork.
The items on display will include quilts of different sizes, wall hangings and smaller samples of stitchery. The Commonwealth Games quilt made by the club in 2014 will be on display and also an image of the large quilt now hanging in Kilbryde Hospice which was completed and donated to the hospice in 2016.
The club support the charity, Project Linus, making quilts for sick and traumatised babies and children and you will be able to see a few examples of these.

As they mark their 50th anniversary with another tour, the Tannahill Weavers remain one of Scotland's premier traditional bands. This dynamic quartet play Scottish traditional music at its best. The band’s potent mixture of traditional ballads and fiery instrumentals leaves their audiences spellbound. As tight and versatile as any band in the Celtic music scene, the Tannahills can summon rock-n-roll intensity or haunting introspection.
These versatile musicians have received worldwide accolades consistently over the years for their exuberant and humorous performances and outstanding recording efforts that seemingly can't get better … yet continue to do just that.
