Succession planning
Knowledge about the museum collections is as important as the collections themselves.
During his or her career, any museum curator will acquire much knowledge about the collections and subjects which form the basis of their work. In many cases, this knowledge is lost when that member of staff leaves the post or retires.
It is vitally important that this type of knowledge is recorded and passed on to colleagues or those who follow in the post.
This sector-leading project aims to capture that knowledge and to improve information-sharing within the service. It has been made possible by the generous funding from Museums Galleries Scotland and the Trustees of The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles).
