Object of the month
We hold approximately 150,000 objects in our collections and each one gives an insight into some aspect of our cultural heritage.
Each month we choose a different object to put on display in Low Parks Museum, taking the opportunity to explain why it is important to our local history and has earned its place in our collections.

On show in Low Parks Museum as Object of the Month for March is a straight razor dating back to the early 1900s.

Object of the month for April 2012 - Photograph Album of 2nd Battalion The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles).

A herbarium is a collection of plant specimens preserved for future research. Herbaria are used to identify and classify different plant specimens.

09/2011 Object of the month
This handsome trophy was made in England and was won by Corporal Godfrey in 1935. His family kept it until gifting it to the museum in 2008

10/2011 Object of the month
The objects on display this month are souvenirs of the Empire Exhibition which was held in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow in 1938.

11/2011 Object of the month
This rather crude looking saw was used during the Second Boer War from 1899-1902 to amputate the arms of soldiers injured in action.
