| Aims and Objectives | A reduction in class sizes in the secondary sector has had a postive impact on behaviour, thus reducing the need for additional staff to provide behaviour support. Previously allocated staffing resources will be realigned and targeted to areas of greatest need.

| Conclusion | The policy will have an impact on pupils requiring behaviour support, however, there is no evidence of an adverse impact on any of the equality groups. Work to address challenging behaviour will continue, the aim being to improve behaviour and promote positive attitudes. We will monitor the effect of this policy in individual establishments, using statistical information gathered via the SEEMIS system. If any adverse impact is identified in relation to the equality groups, this will be addressed through ASN legislation and/or the Inclusion agenda. The conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations.
