Title | Efficiency Savings 2010/11 - Management Time in Secondary Schools (Workforce Planning and Workforce Reform) |
Council Resource | Education |
Service Area | Education Resources |
Aims and Objectives | Currently promoted post holders in secondary schools receive an allocation of management time, the level of which varies depending on the post. It is proposed to reduce the allocation of management time by 1 period per week per full time equivalent promoted post. This will lead to a corresponding increase in teaching time for each promoted post holder, allowing an overall reduction in the number of teachers allocated to each school.

Conclusion | The conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations. We will monitor individual establishments in terms of the impact on numbers of staff affected and in any resulting effect on workload and output for teaching staff. If any adverse impact is identified in relation to the equality groups, this will be addressed through ASN legislation and the Inclusion agenda.
