Aims and ObjectivesThe Act removes the powers of councils to provide advisory disabled persons' bays and places a duty on them to regulate any disabled person parking bays, which the public have access to.

ConclusionThe Disabled Persons' Parking Places (Scotland) Act 2009 places a duty on the council to promote the proper use of parking places in its area that are designated or provided for the sole use of disabled persons' vehicles. The council is committed to meet the requirements of the Act over the next 2 to 4 years and has identified the resources, both financial and human, to accomplish this. We will publish an annual report on our progress.
