Service AreaCommunity and Enterprise
Aims and ObjectivesThe council will continue to work in partnership with stakeholders to pursue town centre regeneration priorities through the implementation of regeneration schemes, including traffic management and road safety measures, as necessary.

ConclusionThe Council continues with its town centre regeneration programme, involving local interest groups and organisations, as required. The policy is assessed annually to ensure that it fits in with the overall aims and objectives of the Council and provides equal opportunities for all sections of the community. The regeneration of town centres improves roads and other public areas to ensure that they meet the needs of communities, as well as encouraging business and commerce. Consultation on proposals is carried out through local interest groups, public exhibitions and information leaflets to households. The findings of these consultations are fed back to the various groups and the community through regular meetings and information leaflets. Individual solutions to specific issues are sought in consultation with local groups and users, in particular, those who are disadvantaged due to reduced mobility or have access issues relating to street parking or public transport.
