Planning Policies for Mineral Development in South Lanarkshire | South Lanarkshire Council
TitlePlanning Policies for Mineral Development in South Lanarkshire
Council ResourceCommunity and Enterprise
Service AreaCommunity and Enterprise
Aims and ObjectivesThe South Lanarkshire Minerals Plan was adopted in 2002. The policies identify the location of mineral resources in South Lanarkshire and set out the Council's requirements for the sustainable development of these resources whilst protecting communities and the environment from adverse effects

ConclusionThe conclusion of this initial equality impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations. This is due to the nature of the policies which are land use policies designed to control the location of new minerals developments, and seek to protect communities and the environment. Consultation on these policies is undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning legislation.
