Aims and ObjectivesIt is proposed to close Larkhall Resource Centre which is a day care centre for adults with physical and learning disabilities. The service users who currently attend the Larkhall Resource Centre will move to a new purpose built, integrated community facility in Stonehouse. South Lanarkshire Council is investing approximately £6 million in the construction of this new facility.


ConclusionIt is proposed to construct a new purpose built integrated community facility in Stonehouse in 2010. Service users who currently attend the Larkhall Resource Centre will have the opportunity to move to the new facility. The conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation or on community relations. On this basis, no further impact assessment is required.
