Aims and ObjectivesThe East Kilbride and District Dementia Carers Group provide six day care places at the Pine Crescent Day Care Centre in East Kilbride. The contract with South Lanarkshire Council for service provision will expire in July 2010. It is proposed to re-provision the six service places to the modern day care facilities within East Kilbride which offer a wide range of dedicated and personalised care services, particularly for older people affected by dementia.






ConclusionThe East Kilbride and District Dementia Carers Group provide six day care places at the Pine Crescent Day Care Centre in East Kilbride. The contract with South Lanarkshire Council for service provision will expire in July 2010. South Lanarkshire Council has made a significant capital investment in the refurbishment and replacement of facilities for older people. It is proposed to re-provision the six service places, currently accessed by twenty-one service users, to the modern day care facilities within East Kilbride which offer a wide range of dedicated and personalised care services, particularly for adults and older people affected by dementia.
Consultation with the stakeholders affected by the proposed saving will be undertaken following approval of the proposed 2010/2011 non core budget reductions by the Elected Members. Based on the outcome of the initial impact assessment, a full impact assessment is required.
