Titlechange in management arrangements for children's rights officers
Council ResourceSocial Work
Service AreaSocial Work Resources
Aims and ObjectivesThe Children's Rights team provides advocacy services for children with a range of needs within South Lanarkshire. This is service is currently provided within Social Work Resources. It is proposed to transfer this service to Who Cares? Scotland. This will bring the service into line with advocacy services for other groups which are provided by independent bodies.

ConclusionThis proposal involves the realignment of management responsbilities for a service, from in-house service provision to external management within a voluntary sector organisation. This will bring this service, which provides advocacy for children and young people, into line with advocacy services for other client groups, and meets best practice guidance from Scottish Government. There is not expected to be any impact on service delivery as a result of these proposals. Therefore, the conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation or on community relations.
