Service AreaEducation Resources
Aims and ObjectivesIn October 2010, Libraries will become part of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Cultural Trust. As a Trust, Libraries gain charity status and become liable for rates relief, up to a maximum of 95% reduction, thus resulting in a saving for 2011/12.
ConclusionDue to Libraries moving to Trust status, Education Resources no longer requires to pay rates and can therefore accumulate a saving. The conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations.
