Aims and ObjectivesBudget was allocated to allow some progression towards meeting the Concordat commitment of free school meals for all P1-P3 pupils. 20 targeted schools will lose this provision in April 2011.
ConclusionThis saving will remove the budget allocation for free school meals to all P1-P3 pupils within the targeted 20 schools. Those families entitled to free school meals as a result of means tested eligibility will continue to receive free school meals. The conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations.
