Council ResourceEducation
Service AreaEducation resources
Aims and ObjectivesProposal to review Inclusion Service transport provision. Transport is required to be considered as part of the legislative duties outlined in the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004 and 2009. The target should be achieved through the review of Fleet Services and a range of other options aiming to provide a more efficient service.
ConclusionThe conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there could be adverse impact, through socio/economic factors. However, the options proposed will suggest more efficient and effective means of transporting children, including moving from single to multi-occupancy contracts. If any adverse impact is identified in relation to the equality groups, this will be addressed through ASL legislation and/or the Inclusion agenda.
