|Description of service||The Licensing and Registration Office services provide a range of public services. The Licensing service deals with a range of civic licences from taxis and private hire cars to street traders and drinks licensing. The Registration Office undertakes a statutory function on behalf of the Registrar General for Scotland, recording registration information for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships as well as additional services such as the administration of the school attendance council, school work permits and the Education Appeals Committee.|
|Opening times||Monday to Thursday 8.45am - 4.30pm; Friday 8.45am - 4.00pm, Saturday 9.00am – 12.30pm (March to October).
Our offices are busiest on Mondays and Fridays and between the hours of 12-noon and 2pm. You are welcome to visit us at any time but your waiting time may be longer during these busy times. On some occasions when our offices are exceptionally busy we will have no option but to give you an appointment either later that day or on an alternative date. |Additional information||The newly refurbished Town House is the perfect location for a civil marriage with a choice of two well appointed ceremony rooms. Ceremonies for groups from four to 80 can be accommodated in this magnificent setting.|
