Hopes high for volleyball teams

The second day of the ICG Volleyball competition got underway with the eight participating countries hoping to get the points on the board that will take them through to Sunday’s finals.

The line-up for finals day of the girls Volleyball finals at Wishaw Sports Centre has been decided.

Early favourites Los Angeles are through after winning both their matches on Friday and Saturday in group Mull and they will now face Skye group runners-up Mislinja who defeated Team Lanarkshire on Saturday.

The other semi-final will feature Plock of Poland who topped group Skye after winning all three of their matches by two clear sets. They will now face Canadian outfit Halifax who finished second in group Mull.

The semi-finals begin at 9am on Sunday morning with the final and third place play off taking place later in the day.

Boys' matches are taking place on the Caledonian court today with the girls' playing on the Highland court at Wishaw Sports Centre.

One of the highlights of the day is sure was the 'derby' match between the Team Lanarkshire boys and the Edinburgh squad - with the Edinburgh squad winning through in a thrilling contest.

The full results each day will be posted on the boys and girls volleyball results pages.
