The Council Plan, Connect, sets out the Council's objectives and priorities from 2012 to 2017, centred around a long term vision to improve the quality of life for everyone in South Lanarkshire.
Within Connect, the Council has identified the following priorities:
- Improve the quality, access and availability of housing
- Improve services for older people
- Improve road network and influence improvements in public transport
- Raise educational achievement and attainment
- Develop a sustainable Council and communities
- Tackle disadvantage and deprivation
- Protect vulnerable children, young people and adults
- Support the local economy by providing the right conditions for growth, improving skills and employability
- Partnership working, community leadership and engagement
