Published: Thursday 29th November 2012
A new analysis of health and health inequalities in South Lanarkshire.
A report has been produced looking at the health of areas within South Lanarkshire and at the level of health inequality between the most and least deprived areas.
For men, life expectancy in the most deprived areas was estimated to be 8.9 years lower than that for men in the least deprived areas. For women, the gap is 8.8 years. Comparison with previous periods suggests that the gap between the most and least deprived areas has been widening for men but narrowing for women.
