How to apply for extended hours
If you want to stay open later than your current licence allows for a special event, you must apply for extended hours. This could be for a private function or a local or national event.
You need to apply at least 21 days before the event so we have time to process your request.
How to apply
You can apply online.
Contact the Licensing office to get a username or password.
What happens next
Once we receive your application:
- we send it to Police Scotland and the Licensing Standards Officer
- Police Scotland can object within 10 days
- the Licensing Standards Officer will send us a report within 10 days
If you have not heard from us at least 7 days before your event, contact us to check progress.

- extended hours £10
- we do not give refunds if you withdraw your application or it is refused
