Wheelchair access in taxis and private hire cars
Drivers of accessible vehicles must help passengers travel safely and comfortably, at no extra cost, under the Equality Act 2010.
Drivers who are not able to give physical assistance due to a medical condition or disability, can apply for an exemption.
If a driver does not have an exemption and does not meet their duties, they are committing an offence.
