Care and carers

Are you caring for a relative or friend? Thousands of people in South Lanarkshire - from senior citizens to children - spend much of their lives looking after others. It could be elderly family members, disabled children or close friends who are ill.

Long term, it can have quite an impact on your life - socially, emotionally and financially.

There are two main carers organisations in the area. South Lanarkshire Carers Network is run by carers for carers and was set up to give a voice to carers in Lanarkshire. The Princess Royal Trust Lanarkshire Carers Centre supports carers across South Lanarkshire.

If you  think you need support as a carer, complete the carers assessment form. Social work will meet with you to discuss any difficulties and find ways to help.
