Domestic violence
There are many kinds of domestic abuse - physical, sexual and emotional. The main thing to consider is 'are you afraid of your partner?' Fear is the main way an abusive partner will control you and continue with their abuse unchecked.
Domestic violence is more likely to be experienced by women and it's estimated that more than one in four women experience domestic abuse at some point in their lives. Domestic violence and abuse has a huge impact on children's lives. Don't put up with it - seek help.
Women's Aid South Lanarkshire's runs a 24 hour helpline - 01698 891498
The Scottish Government's Domestic abuse helpline provides a wealth of information or you can call on 0800 027 1234.
