Although we don't run any bus or train services, we have a big role to play in making sure that the area has a good transport system and congestion is reduced by encouraging the use of public transport.
The national transport strategy is set by the Scottish Government, which also maintains the trunk road network. At the local level, we have developed a local transport strategy and are responsible for roads and planning, school transport, taxi and private hire car licensing and play a key role in Strathclyde Partnership for Transport to plan and deliver better transport services.
You can use Traveline for information on all public transport in Scotland. For train times and offers log on to First Scotrail.
If you have a disability the National Rail Enquiries website has information to help your journey go as smoothly as possible.
