Business Improvement Districts (BID)
Local non-domestic ratepayers voted in favour of the Hamilton Business Improvement District and Carluke Business Improvement District. All eligible non-domestic ratepayers are liable to pay an annual BID levy based on the rateable value of their property.
The council's non-domestic rates team usually issue annual bills in October for Carluke BID and November for Hamilton BID, with payment due immediately. All non-payment of bills will be pursued by the council, with a potential additional 10% statutory penalty and Sheriff Officers' involvement. You can appeal in writing, listing the full reason, within 28 days from the bill date to: Head of Support Services, Community and Enterprise Resources, Montrose House, 154 Montrose Crescent, Hamilton ML3 6LB.
Please note: credit card payments will be subject to a surcharge of 1.23%. We can't accept payments by American Express or Electron.
Payment is taken in a single payment on the 1st of the month after the bill is issued. Contact the non-domestic rates team to set up a direct debit over the phone or have a mandate sent.

Payments and standing orders can be made direct to the council's bank account: sort code 83-22-26, account number 00146582. Please quote your 16-digit account number from your bill.
