Social Work Resources

Performance and support services

Performance and support services play an important role in supporting the work of the other services within Social Work Resources and provide the following:

The administration team provides administrative support to all services and contributes to the Resources communications systems.

The finance team offer advice, guidance and support to operational managers in financial matters.

The IT business system team support operational staff to make the most effective use of the Resource's information technology systems.

The personnel team support operational managers in staffing matters as well as helping the Resource in managing its recruitment and staff support policies.

The training team are a dedicated team that facilitates employees training and development across Social Work Resources.

Property services are linked to Social Work Resources and help the Resource work with other partner agencies in the building and management of buildings and property.

Within Social Work Resources our aim is to create a culture where quality improvement, self evaluation and reflective practice are seen as the way we deliver services leading to continuous improvement for the people who use our services.

The performance management and public information team support this work by reporting on statutory as well as local performance indicators, contributing to best value reviews and providing a range of public information.

The planning team work alongside operational colleagues to produce and implement statutory plans that guide service delivery across the resource.

Providing the best services involves the Resource working in partnership with other Resources within the council, health services, voluntary sector and private care providers. The contracts team are responsible for working between the resource and partner agencies who provide many essential services.

Listening to the views of service users and carers is a fundamental value of the Resource. The views of service users are important in the provision of day to day services, and in the planning of how services can be improved.

The service user and carer support team play an important role in working directly with service users and helping them have their say on how Social Work services are planned and provided.
