Council house letting standard

As our tenant, you can expect to move into a clean and safe property which is in a good condition. We have a letting standard that each property must meet. These comply with the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS), and ensure your new home:

• is energy efficient
• has modern facilities and services
• is healthy, safe and secure
• is free from serious disrepair
• meets the tolerable standard

We will give you a copy of our Tenants’ Handbook and the Tenants’ Guide to Repairs. We will also give you a copy of the Energy Performance Certificate for the property. This will tell you how energy efficient it is, and you can use this information as an indication of your likely fuel costs. It will also show the impact that the property is having on the environment.
