Volunteering in South Lanarkshire

Volunteering helps you learn new skills, meet new people, gain confidence and self-esteem while making a difference by supporting a worthwhile cause in the local community.

South Lanarkshire has a vibrant and diverse volunteering community with roles available including retail, fundraising, youth work, office/admin, driving and environmental work. You can also make a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable members of society through mentoring and befriending.

Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan), is the dedicated support body for South Lanarkshire’s voluntary sector and is there to help you get involved in volunteering.

If you would like to volunteer, you can make an appointment to meet one of VASLan’s advisers. Appointments are held in the following venues:

  • Hamilton VASLan Office, 155 Montrose Crescent, Tuesdays 10am-12noon
  • Lanark Library, 16 Hope Street, Wednesdays 1-3pm
  • East Kilbride Library, Thursdays 10am-12noon
