Sunbed regulations

If you run a sunbed business or sell or hire sunbeds you should be aware of the following penalties and fines:

• letting someone under 18 to use a sunbed - £100 Fixed Penalty Notice or a fine of up to £2,500 on conviction
• letting someone use a sunbed unsupervised - £50 Fixed Penalty Notice or a fine of up to £2,500 on conviction
• failing  to give prescribed information to customers - £50 Fixed Penalty Notice or a fine of up to £2,500 on conviction 
• failure to display prescribed information - £50 Fixed Penalty Notice or a fine of up to £2,500 on conviction
• stopping an officer entering and inspecting your premises or house - a fine of up to £2,500 on conviction 
• not producing records or information for inspection - a fine of up to £2,500 on conviction
• not providing the name and address of the operator of the business - a fine of up to £2,500 on conviction
• selling or hiring a sunbed to someone under 18 - a fine of up to £2,500 on conviction
