Ward 12 - Rutherglen Central and North By-election - Thursday 23 November 2017
A By-election to elect a councillor to serve in Ward 12 - Rutherglen Central and North By-election will be held on Thursday 23 November 2017.
One councillor will be elected following the resignation of Councillor Gerard Killen.
How to Vote
To vote in this By-election, eligible residents (you must be aged 16 or over on the day of the By-election) must be registered to vote by midnight on Tuesday 7 November 2017.
At council elections voters must vote using numbers on the ballot paper to elect Councillors for the ward they live in - this is called the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system.
Voters will be issued with one ballot paper and asked to number the candidates in order of choice by putting the number 1 in the box next to the name of the candidate who is your first choice, 2 in the box next to your second choice, 3 in the box next to your third choice and so on. You can make as many or as few choices as you wish.
Voting will take place between 7.00am and 10.00pm.
