Free internet access in libraries - ActiveIT
South Lanarkshire libraries have ActiveIT learning centres offering free high-speed internet access.
You can book a computer in advance or just drop in - you don't even have to be a member of the library.
We'd advise you to book ahead as we often have busy periods. The only thing you have to pay for is printing anything out.
What you can do our ActiveIT centres:
-
access your email, create spreadsheets or documents using a range of office applications
-
access subscription-only reference sources for free
Learning about computers and the internet
We often run courses and classes where we'll help you get the most from computers.
Ask at your local library for information about what's on where.
Special computer equipment
We also have a range of equipment for customers with disabilities or difficulties with computer equipment, such as:
- screen magnification
- adaptive keyboards
- trackballs
Please ask library staff for advice.
Hiring an ActiveIT learning centre
Companies or organisations can hire ActiveIT Learning Centres for courses or classes.
Charges may apply - contact your local library for more information.
