Count me in 1, 2, 3
"Count me in" is a range of well stocked bags containing books, games and fun activities. They can be borrowed by parents, carers, or childminders from any of our libraries.
The aim of "Count me in" is to develop mathematical ideas and concepts for young children through story and rhyme. Counting games complement the picture books letting parents and carers enjoy sharing books and activities with young children aged 1-4 years.
Count me in 1: Baby fun - One little duck
Very young children, from about a year old, enjoy this simple counting rhyme. Repetition helps develop language skills. The activities will encourage listening, looking and learning about colours and sizes.
Count me in 2: Wobble bear says yellow
2-3 year olds follow Wobble Bear as he gets ready for bed. The activities will encourage recognition, counting, observation and matching, size and co-ordination.
Count me in 3: Oliver's vegetables
Pre-school children may relate to Oliver who won't eat anything but chips. That is, until he helps Grandpa in the garden. The activities will help with counting, sequencing, numeral recognition, matching and height comparison.
The project is sponsored by the Clydesdale Bank.
