Politicians, elections and democracy

The most recent South Lanarkshire Council Elections were held on Thursday 3 May 2012.

The people of South Lanarkshire have now elected the councillors, the 67 men and women who will represent them on the Council for the next five years. The area is divided into 20 wards, each with three or four councillors.
