Schools Modernisation Programme

South Lanarkshire Council now boasts the biggest UK wide education PPP (Public Private Partnership) with a total capital value of £319million invested in its secondary Schools Modernisation Programme.

Under the Schools Modernisation Programme all of the council's 19 secondary schools are being transformed to meet the needs of a 21st century learning environment with the first schools being scheduled for completion in the second half of 2007.

Equally impressive is the £850m investment in the council's Primary Schools Modernisation programme, which is financed through a different procurement method. In fact, pupils and staff from the first phase of the primary schools programme are already reaping the benefits of working in contemporary, visually and mentally stimulating environments.
