Partners in achieving our goals

Photo: no picture of service available

Partnership working is the key to achieving the Council's goals. We are committed to developing Community Planning and working effectively with partners and the local community.

We work closely with the voluntary sector, business community and Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire, NHS Lanarkshire, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Communities Scotland, Strathclyde Police, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, Strathclyde Passenger Transport, the Youth Council and others.

By law, the Council has responsibility to take the lead in developing Community Planning. Working with our partners, we launched our first Community Plan - Stronger Together in 2002. This was refreshed in 2005.

Stronger Together - Community Plan(650 KB PDF) (this document will open in a new window) aims to 'Improve the quality of life for all in South Lanarkshire by ensuring equal access to opportunities and services that meet people's needs.'
