People with disabilities

People affected by disabilities

If you or a member of your family is affected by disability, we provide a range of services that can help - from community alarms and adaptations for your home to blue badges and disabled parking bays.

The aim is to enable you to live life as independently as possible in your own community and to provide support for carers. If you have a disability or are a carer and would like an appointment with social work to discuss your situation, contact your local social work office listed on the right or complete an online Social work services appointment request (this will open in a new window). You can also complete an online self referral for a service from the equipment and adaptations service Equipment and adaptation self referral form (this will open in a new window). In emergencies outwith office hours, contact the Social Work Standby Team (this will open in a new window). You will find more details on services for people with disabilities below.
