Learning Disabilities

Major changes are currently taking place in the way services are provided for adults with learning disabilities in South Lanarkshire.

Building on the Scottish Government's report "The Same as You?", the drive is on to ensure people with learning disabilities have much better opportunities to live as part of their community and are involved in many activities that enrich their lives.

Services in place and being developed for adults with learning disabilities include the Community Support Teams, improved provision for employment and training, new centres that have state-of-the-art facilities, supported living opportunities and advocacy services that enable people to make their voice heard.
