Drugs, alcohol and substance misuse

The misuse of drugs, alcohol and other substances can seriously impact on the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities, therefore the Council, health services and police work together through the Lanarkshire Alcohol and Drug Action Team to help solve these problems.

If you want help with a drugs or alcohol problem, your local social work office can make you an appointment when you call. You can complete an online Social work services appointment request or ask for information about the drop in sessions run by our Substance Misuse teams. You will find more information on these services below.

DrugScope

DrugScope is an independent centre of expertise on drugs. Their aim is to inform policy development and reduce drug-related risk by providing drug information, promoting effective responses to drug taking, researching at local, national and international levels, advising on policy-making and encouraging informed debate.
