Rural Partnership

Image of a rural setting

The Rural Partnership co-ordinates the regeneration and development of the rural area of South Lanarkshire.

Nine tenths of South Lanarkshire is in the rural area - and 75,000 of our residents live there. A six-year regeneration plan to safeguard and enhance rural South Lanarkshire's rich cultural, historical and natural heritage was launched in January 2008. The South Lanarkshire Rural Strategy 2007 - 2013 has been devised by the partnership following consultation with local communities and other organisations.

The Partnership has recently been successful in attracting £1.39 million of additional Leader funding. Details can be found in the Leader Business Plan 2007-2013.
