Births

When you need to register the birth of a baby, arrange a naming ceremony or want to know what to do when you can't find your birth certificate, our registrars are ready to help.

In addition to registering births, deaths and marriages and providing civil wedding services, our registrars can provide a range of new services from naming ceremonies to renewing marriage vows. Indeed, they also facilitate civil funeral services and can officiate at ceremonies to confirm UK citizenship.

Any births or deaths occuring in Scotland may be registered at any registration office in the country. Furthermore, you can register at any office in South Lanarkshire even if you do not reside within the Council's boundaries.

Please complete our District Court, Licensing and Registration Services customer survey form (this link will open in a new window).
