Council tax

Council tax is charged on homes dependent on their value and whether privately owned or rented. Your home is valued by the Lanarkshire Valuation Joint Board.

Rent and Housing Benefit

We have 25,500 tenants and many rents are subsidised by Housing Benefit. We can help you with your claim as well as advise you if you have money problems. We can also help private tenants.

Non-domestic rates

We are responsible for the billing and collection of £180 million of non-domestic rates for 9,000 business properties across South Lanarkshire.
