Secondary education

Photo:pupil sitting at piano keyboard

There are around 20,000 secondary age pupils in South Lanarkshire and we currently have 17 secondary schools catering for young people in the 12-18 age group. A £319 million secondary schools modernisation programme is underway which will ensure bright and modern learning environments for all of our pupils. Excellent leisure facilities will also be gained from this ambitious regeneration programme.

A number of schools are merging in new or refurbished premises and on completion of the programme we will have 17 state-of-the-art campuses.

Whether you want to enrol your child in secondary school, make a placing request, check out school transport or find out about the curriculum, you'll find a range of information below. Many of our secondary schools also have their own websites listed with their entry on the schools list on the right.
