Schools Modernisation Programme

South Lanarkshire Council is among the biggest UK-wide education Public Private Partnerships (PPP) with a total capital value of £318 million invested in its Secondary Schools Modernisation Programme.

Under the Schools Modernisation Programme all of the Council's 19 secondary schools have been transformed to meet the needs of a 21st century learning environment.

Equally impressive is the £850m investment in the Council's Primary Schools Modernisation Programme, which is financed through a different procurement method. In fact, pupils and staff from the first and second phase of the primary schools programme are already reaping the benefits of working in contemporary, visually and mentally stimulating environments.

Currently, around 9,000 primary school children and 19,000 secondary school pupils are enjoying life in these modern, bright and inspiring buildings.
