Country parks and rangers

Whether it's a quiet walk along country trails or a family fun day out, Calderglen Country Park in East Kilbride and Chatelherault Country Park near Hamilton have something to suit every taste while you can get on the water at the James Hamilton Heritage Park.

Our parks are supported by our ranger service who provide education, advice and guidance on a number of environmental and wildlife issues. They also keep a watchful eye on a number of nature reserves across South Lanarkshire.

School groups can book our free ranger service to accompany and guide groups to enable them to get the best from their visit. You can find out a lot more about wildlife, plants and biodiversity by taking part in many of the activities organised by the countryside rangers or Greenspace.

You can watch our SLTV Fresh Air programme Wildflowers (this link will open in a new window).
