South Lanarkshire is set to welcome the world renowned National Danish Gymnastic Performance Team.
The council and South Lanarkshire Leisure will play host to the 32-strong squad as part of their 10-month world tour and highlight of their week will be a world class show on Thursday 26 March at John Wright Sports Centre in East Kilbride.
The show features a variety of traditional gymnastics, modern rhythmic gymnastics, artistic vaulting and tumbling, as well as Danish culture and history in a performance that promises to be fun, dramatic and a powerfully moving experience for the whole family.
In addition to the show, team members will run a number of workshops throughout their week-long stay in South Lanarkshire. The workshops will help teachers, coaches and instructors to learn or brush up on acrobatics, dance (funk and streetdance), sports team warm-ups, tumbling and vaulting.
Also planned is a series of visits to local schools to entertain school children, as well as gymnastics workshops.
Before reaching Scotland The National Danish Gymnastic Performance Team will have visited Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, USA and South America in their three-month tour and over the last 10 years they have visited over 50 countries, performed live in front of more than 1.5 million spectators, and millions of TV viewers worldwide.
