With the county towns of Lanark and Carluke and historic villages such as Biggar, Douglas and Leadhills, not to mention the famous orchards and garden centres of the Clyde Valley, this area is South Lanarkshire's top tourist destination. It's also a wonderful place to live.
Steeped in history as diverse as the Wars of Independence, mining, the Covenanters and Robert Owen's pioneering village at New Lanark, there's no shortage of things to see and do.
You can watch the following SLVTV films about Clydesdale - Clydesdale Mill Society, Clydesdale Riding for the Disabled, Lanarkshire Yeomanry and Walkways: The Falls of Clyde (these links will each open in a new window).
