South Lanarkshire Leisure operates six Municipal Golf Courses located throughout the area. Four of these are 18 hole courses with the remaining two being 9 hole courses. All courses are of a good quality and welcome

individuals and party groups alike.

    Fund raising events

    As part of the fund raising for the Cancer Research 'Relay for Life' taking part at the John Wright Sports Centre on the 11th and 12th June, the staff have organised a number of events.

    Over 10,000 children introduced to golf in South Lanarkshire!

    The initial 4-year South Lanarkshire Junior Golf Strategy has given the opportunity of experiencing golf to 10,389 children. Following the national golf strategy clubgolf, golf has been taken into the primary schools of South Lanarkshire. clubgolf was devised on the back of the successful bid for the Ryder Cup in 2014 at Gleneagles.

    New golf clubs sign up

    Two South Lanarkshire golf clubs have recently joined the South Lanarkshire Junior Golf Strategy following the clubgolf initiative to give every primary 5 age child an experience of golf and opportunity to take up the sport they can play for life.

    PGA Level 1 Coaches Day 2008

    The annual volunteer golf coaches' day took place on Sunday 7th September 2008 at Kames Country Club. This day is organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure as a 'thank you' to all the volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy in delivering clubgolf coaching to local children in South Lanarkshire.
