SL Lifestyles-Lanark opens

South Lanarkshire Lifestyles-Lanark opened its doors on the 18th January 2010 amid great expectations from the local community. The new Centre, which is in a new location behind the railway station, has been well received by almost everyone who has so far visited and who have commented on its open plan layout, ease of use and standard of finish, which demonstrates South Lanarkshire Council's commitment to quality community facilities and healthy lifestyles.

The Centre is operated by South Lanarkshire Leisure Trust and houses a 25 metre, 6 lane pool with moveable floor, health suite, 30 station Club gym, dance studio and football changing, with a Starbuck Coffee Shop adding the final touch. The improved programme now offers longer opening hours and many more opportunities for public swimming, swimming lessons, fitness classes and tailored fitness programmes than was possible in the 'old' Lanark Pool and New Winston gym.

Around 7000 visitors tried out the new facilities within the first 12 days of opening, with many making a commitment to regular use by joining the various excellent value membership packages on offer.

There is no doubt that South Lanarkshire Lifestyles-Lanark will become a favourite of many residents of Lanark and the surrounding areas over the coming months and years, and the staff at the Centre are ready to welcome everyone who wants to come along and see for themselves!
