South Lanarkshire aims to encourage and promote sport and physical activity among people with a disabilities in South Lanarkshire. Several programmes are in place in order to achieve this. Programmes are detailed below.
Additional Support Needs Schools Programme

Supported by South Lanarkshire Council, South Lanarkshire Leisure organise a School of Sport where over eighty young people with various disabilities have the chance to attend a two day residential school of sport at Scotland's National Sports Centre. Every year, ten young people with physical and complex needs take part in a two day School of Sport at Scotland's National Sports Centre, Inverclyde.

Every year Scottish Disability Sports provides a programme of National sports events. South Lanarkshire Leisure support athletes in the participation of these National events across the year.
