Upgrade for planning and building warrant applications

The Planning and Building Standards Service is installing new software to manage planning and building warrant applications.

The system upgrade will help deliver a better and more efficient service, including a new portal for viewing planning and building standards applications online.

Due to the nature of the work, normal service delivery will be affected between February 2 and 23. During these dates, the processing of new applications will be affected as will progress on applications that have been previously submitted.

Councillor Alistair Fulton, the chair of the council’s Planning Committee, said: “To help this period pass as easily as possible for everyone, we ask that, where possible, people wait until after these dates to submit an application or to contact us about an application already submitted.

“While officers will be available, it would be helpful between these dates to limit any communication with Planning and Building Standards services to essential matters. We apologise for any inconvenience that will be caused by this essential upgrade.”
