As part of SGN's ongoing upgrade to its gas network a six-week phased programme of work will be getting underway next week.
The upgrade will be starting in the St Ninian’s Road area of Hamilton on Monday 2 July and will last for approximately six weeks.
The £118,000 investment will replace old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
SGN has split the project into three phases to minimise disruption as much as possible:
- Phase 1: Duration approx. 2 weeks. From Monday 2 July, works from Hillhouse Road at St Ninians Primary School will progress along Hillhouse Road to its junction with St Ninians Road. To ensure everyone’s safety during this phase, temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place at this junction
- Phase 2: Duration approx. 2 weeks. From Monday 16 July, continuing along Hillhouse Road to its junction with Farm Road. Temporary three-way traffic lights will also be in place at this junction
- Phase 3: Duration approx. 2 weeks. From Monday 30 July, continuing along Hillhouse Road to its junction with Clarkwell Road with temporary three-way traffic lights at that junction
SGN will be posting regular updates at www.sgn.co.uk as well as social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed throughout the duration of the works.
